Quark

Quark is a fresh, soft white cheese with a tangy flavour.  It is spreadable and very versatile!  It can be used to replace cream cheese for cheesecakes,  replace cottage cheese in lasagnas, spread it on your bagel in the morning,  or mix with mashed potatoes.  A dollop added to your pasta sauce works wonders for a smooth, creamy flavour.  Add some sugar and vanilla extract and you have icing!  The range of uses are endless.  Quark is low in fat (8% M.F. or 7 g per 3/4 cup serving) and high in protein (7 g per 3/4 cup serving) making it a healthy substitute.  See our recipe tab for ideas!
